Description
Registered Nurse (Neuro Unit)
Location: Peoria, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Night (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to a designated group of patients on a neuro unit, utilizing the nursing process and current nursing practices. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation of nursing interventions, documentation, and ensuring patient and staff safety.
Essential Functions
- Perform all unit-specific nursing duties within scope of practice.
- Conduct initial patient assessments upon admission and develop individualized care plans.
- Implement and modify nursing care plans based on ongoing patient evaluation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
- Report and address safety hazards and incidents to ensure patient and employee safety.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to resolve issues.
- Provide constructive feedback to peers and engage in professional development.
- Identify personal learning needs and pursue appropriate solutions.
- Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
- Minimum 3 years of neurology nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Work Environment
- Night shift on a neuro specialty unit.
- 12-hour shifts, typically totaling 36 hours per week.
