Cardiovascular Radiology Technologist
Location
- Cincinnati, Ohio
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Shift Details
- 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- On-call coverage required:
- Weekday call: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend call: 7:00 AM Saturday – 7:00 AM Monday
- 30-minute response time for emergency cases during call shifts
Job Description
- Provide continuous, comprehensive care to adult and geriatric invasive cardiology and peripheral angiography patients
- Perform angiographic procedures including invasive vascular treatments and diagnostic/interventional cath lab procedures
- Function as scrub assistant to cardiologist/radiologist using sterile technique
- Set up sterile trays and specialized equipment for procedures
- Maintain hemostasis post-procedure using compression or closure devices; manage groin sites and sheath removal
- Recognize and report abnormal patient data and changes in condition to physician and charge nurse
- Collaborate with healthcare team using appropriate handoff methods
- Assess safety risks and implement safety initiatives for patients, families, and environment
- Provide individualized patient and family education
- Respond skillfully to emergency situations
- Follow radiation safety protocols, including use of protective equipment and dosimetry badges
- Screen females of childbearing age for possible pregnancy
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Radiology Technologist experience within the last year, with ability to scrub and perform x-ray procedures
- Experience with the Impella device
- Peripheral vascular experience
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
