Cardiovascular Radiology Technologist

Location

  • Cincinnati, Ohio

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Shift Details

  • 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
  • On-call coverage required:
    • Weekday call: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM
    • Weekend call: 7:00 AM Saturday – 7:00 AM Monday
    • 30-minute response time for emergency cases during call shifts

Job Description

  • Provide continuous, comprehensive care to adult and geriatric invasive cardiology and peripheral angiography patients
  • Perform angiographic procedures including invasive vascular treatments and diagnostic/interventional cath lab procedures
  • Function as scrub assistant to cardiologist/radiologist using sterile technique
  • Set up sterile trays and specialized equipment for procedures
  • Maintain hemostasis post-procedure using compression or closure devices; manage groin sites and sheath removal
  • Recognize and report abnormal patient data and changes in condition to physician and charge nurse
  • Collaborate with healthcare team using appropriate handoff methods
  • Assess safety risks and implement safety initiatives for patients, families, and environment
  • Provide individualized patient and family education
  • Respond skillfully to emergency situations
  • Follow radiation safety protocols, including use of protective equipment and dosimetry badges
  • Screen females of childbearing age for possible pregnancy

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Radiology Technologist experience within the last year, with ability to scrub and perform x-ray procedures
  • Experience with the Impella device
  • Peripheral vascular experience
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
