Registered Nurse - Telemetry I
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Job Description
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans; observe, record, and communicate patient conditions appropriately.
- Coordinate care among all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
- Follow physician and nursing orders accurately.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
- Work independently with critical thinking and decisive judgment in a stressful environment.
- Use personal protective equipment and follow Standard Precautions as required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
- Minimum of 1 year of Telemetry nursing experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Certification or proficiency in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Valid driver's license.
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Complete specialty and pharmacology competency exams with a minimum passing score of 80%, updated every 3 years.
- Complete core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, and OSHA topics with required passing scores.
- Complete EKG competency exam with a minimum score of 80%, updated every 3 years.
- Complete color vision test, health statement or physical exam, and fit test (annual update required).
- Provide documented proof of immunizations and health screenings:
- Two MMR vaccines or positive titer (no declinations accepted).
- Two Varicella vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Influenza vaccine is optional but recommended during flu season; mask required if declined.
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA with annual TB questionnaire; chest X-ray if positive.
- Submit a 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Provide professional references (minimum two) and employment verification for the past seven years.
- Complete criminal background check including Social Security trace, OIG search, and National Sex Offender registry within 90 days prior to start.
- Provide a valid driver's license or state ID matching address requirements.
- Complete required onboarding attestations and training modules prior to assignment start.
- Provide a forward-facing badge photo with a white or blue background (no alterations).
Additional Notes
- All license and certification verifications must be current and primary source verified within 30 days prior to assignment start.
- Any disciplinary actions require completion of a specific questionnaire during credential submission.
- Some optional checklists and evaluations may be requested post-assignment or during onboarding.
This position requires a dedicated RN with telemetry experience capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compliance with all healthcare regulations and organizational standards.
