Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 06:30 AM – 07:00 PM


Job Description

  • Provide evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
  • Assess patients to determine appropriate treatment type and frequency; develop and implement care plans based on diagnosis.
  • Monitor patient condition, respiratory equipment, and treatment outcomes.
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities and administer medications as indicated.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and available community support programs.
  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated (assume standard for RRT unless otherwise specified).
  • Must provide:
    • Professional resume/profile.
    • At least two professional references.
    • Valid, unexpired driver’s license or state ID matching address on file.

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

    • Varicella immunity (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history; no declinations accepted).
    • Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
    • Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement).
  • Tuberculosis screening:
    • 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes.
    • If positive, negative chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire.
  • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite; annual update required).
  • Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
  • Ascension 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually, with retesting if break in service > 90 days.
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and other required screenings within 90 days of start; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days.
  • Employment and education verifications completed within 90 days of start; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days.
  • Skills checklist for respiratory therapy completed within one year of start and updated annually.
  • Confirmation of assignment documentation on agency letterhead with accurate start and end dates.
