Description
Job Opportunity: Emergency Room RN
Location
- Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type
- Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Schedule
- Part-time, 24 hours per week
- Weekend shifts only (Saturday & Sunday)
- Two 12-hour shifts per weekend (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Emergency Room experience specifically at a Level 1 trauma center
- Prior travel experience required
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Ohio (Nursys or Board of Nursing verification required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Proof of immunizations or immunity for:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (series or positive titer; declination accepted)
- Tuberculosis (TB) test completed within 60 days prior to assignment start (QuantiFERON, T-Spot, or 2-step skin test)
- Annual Fit Test for N95 respirators or PAPR (required for direct patient care)
- Physical/Health Statement within the past year
- Influenza vaccine recommended (optional, with exemptions considered case-by-case)
Background and Screening
- Criminal background check completed within 90 days prior to start (including 7-year county and national checks, SSN trace, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions)
- 9-panel drug screen completed within 60 days prior to start (marijuana removed from panel)
- Two professional references from charge nurse or higher within the last 2 years
- Education verification of highest nursing degree
- Valid government-issued ID or driver’s license (address must match profile)
Onboarding and Testing Requirements
- Current skills checklist completed within 12 months prior to start
- ECG exam completion certificate required before start
- Internal competency checklist to be completed within 2 weeks of start
- Annual compliance training module completion certificate required
- Badge photo meeting specified criteria (color, recent, professional)
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Valid driver’s license
