Job Summary

Provides advanced respiratory care for pediatric patients, including airway management, ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and related respiratory procedures. May also support patient transport and advanced practice procedures depending on assignment area.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pediatric Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
• 2 years of Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
• Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Graduation from a Respiratory Therapy program
• Experience in a hospital setting
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
• NRP
• PALS issued by the American Heart Association
• CPFT or an advanced practice certificate to administer moderate sedation in a Bronchoscopy Lab
• Ability to read and interpret clinical and technical information
• Ability to document clinical information
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and staff
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts in practical situations
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical situations

Additional Notes

• May be required to work on-call days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Oscillatory ventilator experience within 5 years is required
