Work Schedule
- Night shift: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM (3 shifts of 12 hours)
- Holiday rotation included
- No on-call required
- Floating between Main Hospital and ART units within scope of practice
Job Description
- Position involves general ultrasound technology duties
- Daily caseload varies per technician
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist within the last year
- At least one completed travel assignment
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ARDMS or ARRT (Sonography) certification required
Facility Highlights
- Teaching hospital with Magnet status and Level 1 Trauma designation
- 865 staffed beds
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrub colors: teal tops and black bottoms
- Parking fee applies nights and weekends only ($20 one-time pass)
Important Notes
- Radius rule: 60 miles; local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis
- Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
- During hurricane season (June-November, peak in August-September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams; consider this before accepting or extending assignments
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Copy of Driver’s License and Social Security Card required
- Employment application/resume including all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Background checks including:
- 7-year work/living history
- SSN trace, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification or diploma/transcripts as placeholder if needed
- Work history verification of last 3 clinical employers (or fewer if applicable)
- Color blindness testing prior to start
- Competency exams as applicable
Health & Safety Requirements
- Initial physical exam, updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Fit test for N95 mask (O&M Halyard FLUIDSHIELD or 3M Aura 1870+) within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required or proof of vaccination/declination for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
- Annual TB questionnaire
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 - Mar 31); flu declinations not accepted
- COVID vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of orientation modules (approx. 2 hours) prior to start; must be done on a computer, not a phone
- Upload COVID and flu vaccination documentation into facility platform
- Passport-style badge photo required by Wednesday before start date
- Physical assessment form required for sterile processing techs (not applicable here)
- Radiation badge not required for Ultrasound Techs (even if under Radiology/Cardiology)
- No radiation badge required for this position
