Job Opportunity: CT Tech

Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evenings (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM), 5 days per week (40 hours/week)
Weekend Call: Rotation required


Job Description

  • Work with Siemens CT scanner (experience preferred)
  • EPIC electronic medical record experience required (no exceptions)
  • Scrubs required: black (not provided)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Virginia
  • Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ARRT (R)(CT) certification
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical record system

Background and Compliance

  • Zero tolerance for any license or background issues; candidates must have clean background checks
  • 7-year criminal background check required, including all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Fingerprinting required via Virginia VSP National Criminal Background Check process
  • Government-issued photo ID must be carried during work hours
  • Proof of 2 professional references required
  • Complete employment application and unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually)

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start confirming good health
  • Fit test for any N95 mask within 1 year of start (facility does not allow PAPR)
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or Tspot) within 1 year; if history of positive TB, chest x-ray and TB questionnaire required
  • Immunizations/titers required within 10 years or valid declinations for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella (booster required if low/equivocal titer unless working outside Mother Baby/infants/peds)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required within past 10 years for certain units (not applicable here)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required annually (or approved medical/religious exemption with mask requirement)
  • COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required; documentation collected if available
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start

Competency and Testing

  • Pass/fail EKG competency test at orientation (minimum 80% score, one attempt only)
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for CT Techs
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required

Additional Notes

  • Passport-style photo (shoulders up, front facing, plain background) required before start
  • Candidate information and acknowledgment forms must be completed promptly after contract signing
  • Facility requires timely completion of all documentation and compliance with all credentialing steps to avoid delays or cancellation

This position offers an opportunity to work in a scenic coastal Virginia location near Virginia Beach and Norfolk, with access to outdoor activities and waterways.
