Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in an outpatient oncology setting. Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients with complex oncology-related problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
• Assess patient and family readiness to learn; use appropriate patient education materials.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and revise plans of care.
• Organize and prioritize patient care based on individual needs.
• Anticipate and assess discharge needs for patients and families.
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment.
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and cost-effective care initiatives.
• Communicate effectively to ensure continuity of care and intra/interdepartmental collaboration.
• Engage in professional development and education to meet learning needs.
• Incorporate cultural and ethnic considerations into patient care planning.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practice to inform care delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for North Carolina.
• Experience in oncology nursing preferred.
• Ability to manage complex patient care and prioritize effectively.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Additional Information

• This is a day shift position with a 10-hour workday.
• Contract length is approximately 13 weeks.
