Description

Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location: Johnstown, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Provide nursing care in a Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department treating all patient populations. The unit has 40 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6. The facility uses EPIC as the electronic health record system.


Schedule & Hours

  • Shifts vary; preferences discussed during interview
  • 36 hours per week guaranteed
  • Weekend hours required
  • No call requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CPI
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Must complete all required Pennsylvania clearances prior to start, including:
    • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
    • Department of Human Services Fingerprinting
    • FBI fingerprinting (within last 2 years or new)
    • PA State Police Clearance (PATCH)
  • Must be at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify as a travel nurse

Unit & Patient Population

  • Emergency Department with Level 1 Trauma designation
  • Treats all patient populations (pediatric, adult, geriatric)
  • Patient ratio approximately 1 nurse to 6 patients

  • Orientation held weekly on Mondays
  • Dress code: scrubs of any color allowed
  • Team player personality fit preferred
  • No float requirements
  • No call requirements
