Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery
Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in a high-volume Labor and Delivery/Perinatal setting.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery/Perinatal experience in a high-volume delivery service.
- Preferred experience: 3-5 years of Perinatal clinical experience in a high-volume delivery service.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas.
- Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience).
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association.
- NRP issued by American Heart Association or American Academy of Pediatrics.
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Driver's License.
Required Credentials and Compliance
- Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Resume/Profile and at least two professional references required prior to assignment.
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and other required screenings within 90 days of assignment start.
- Drug screening (12-panel) within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Health requirements including:
- Proof of MMR vaccination or positive titer (no declinations accepted).
- Proof of Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted).
- Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement).
- 2-step PPD or IGRA testing with annual TB questionnaire.
- Fit test for respiratory protection, preferably completed prior to start.
- Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Completion of specialty competency exams and skills checklists prior to or shortly after start, with periodic updates every 1-3 years.
- Completion of onboarding requirements including core competencies, unit-specific checklists (optional), and electronic attestations.
Additional Information
- Driver’s license or state ID must be current and match address requirements.
- Employment verification for the past seven years required.
- Assignment confirmation and signed agreements required.
- Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs seeking a long-term assignment in a busy perinatal environment with comprehensive credentialing and compliance requirements.
