Registered Nurse

Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
Experience / Skills
- Ventriculostomy
- Ventilators
- Arterial lines
- Central lines
- tPA
- Acute stroke management
- Post-craniectomy care
Unit Details
- Neuro ICU
- 18 beds
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
- Nurses titrate drips
- Nurses read and interpret telemetry strips
- Travelers float first and may float to intermediate and general care units
Schedule Requirements
- Every other weekend
- Rotating every other holiday
Submission Requirements
- Last four digits of SSN
- Middle initial
- Requested time off
Additional Notes
- Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
- Negative drug screen required
- 12 hours of non-billable orientation
- 20 hours of unit-specific orientation
- Call-off policy equivalent to 12 hours every 13 weeks without penalty
