Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM), day shift
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Must be able to float within scope to all hospital areas, including labor and delivery
- Locals: Not accepted
- Local radius: 60 miles
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Charting system: Epic
- Parking: Free
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including recent experience within the last year
- Respiratory Care Practitioner experience
- Current certifications:
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credential
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam: Initial and updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination; boosters allowed if low/non-reactive titer
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- TB Testing:
- Negative 2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold within 90 days of contract start (T-spot not accepted)
- If positive, chest X-ray proof required
- Drug Screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- COVID-19: Vaccines not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or a declination form completed
- Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted, declinations not accepted
- Respirator Clearance: Annual medical clearance required for respirator use via RespSafety questionnaire
Background and Compliance
- Background Check: Annual, including 7 years of residence/work history, national and state criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
- Employment Verification: Last 3 clinical employers verified (exceptions apply)
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Performance Evaluation: Must be dated within 12 months of start
- Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually for applicable units
- Work Eligibility: E-Verify attestation and completed I-9 form required
- State-specific search: South Carolina Medicaid Excluded Providers list check required
