Registered Nurse - OB Inpatient
Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Night
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Schedule Requirements:
- Must work required weekends
- Must schedule 2 Sunday night shifts per 6-week schedule period
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during assigned shifts, utilizing nursing processes, current trends, technology, and resources. Responsibilities include:
- Performing patient assessments and infant care
- Administering medications per physician orders
- Documenting all care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Developing, implementing, and modifying patient care plans based on continuous evaluation
- Ensuring patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards
- Collaborating and communicating effectively with healthcare team members
- Participating in professional development and fulfilling departmental competencies
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 3 years of Maternal-Newborn nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- OB/GYN experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
