Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU
Location: Maywood, Illinois
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Unit: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), 4 NW
Hours: 36 hours per week, every third weekend
Job Description
- Provide critical care nursing in a Medical ICU setting.
- Work night shifts with a schedule of 7p-7a.
- Maintain certifications and competencies relevant to ICU nursing.
- Follow all facility and regulatory policies for patient care and safety.
Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) experience within the last year.
Health & Compliance Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccination with booster proof required (no declination accepted in Illinois).
- Influenza vaccine recommended (optional).
- Proof of MMR vaccination or immunity.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series must be initiated prior to start.
- Varicella vaccination or immunity proof.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
- Fit test for respiratory protection.
- Physical exam within the last year confirming fitness to work.
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA test; chest x-ray if positive within required timeframe.
Background & Professional Screening
- Federal, nationwide, and county criminal background check covering the last 7 years.
- Social Security Number verification.
- Education verification (highest degree or diploma).
- Exclusion screenings including EPLS, OIG, NSO, and GSA/OIG within 30 days of start.
- Signed code of conduct, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and integrity forms.
- Completion of skills checklist provided by the agency.
- System access form completed one week before start.
- CORE exam within the last year.
Additional Information
- Schedule includes every third weekend.
- Documentation such as scanned copies of certifications and licenses must be uploaded and verified prior to onboarding.
- All required forms and screenings must be completed and on file before starting the assignment.
This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs seeking a night shift role in a critical care environment with a 12-week contract.
