Overview

• Location: Freeport, Illinois
• Setting: Emergency department
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift length: 12 hours
• Shift times: Day and evening shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license
• At least 2 years of ER experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNS or TNCC, NIHSS

Experience Notes

• Moderate sedation experience
• First-time travelers are accepted

Schedule Expectations

• Flexibility to rotate start times
• Every other weekend or as needed by the unit
• Holiday rotation with core staff
• Potential floating to med-surg, telemetry, or ICU

Clinical Environment

• Non-trauma emergency department
• 24 beds
• Typical patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics
• Common cases include respiratory illness, minor injuries, MI, MVA, and behavioral health patients
• Nurses may need to interpret telemetry
• Respiratory therapy is assigned, but nurses may assist with breathing treatments
• Imaging is connected to the department
• No call or standby requirement
