Job Overview
- Location: Johnstown, Pennsylvania
- Employment type: Travel
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Weekly hours: 36
- Weekend requirement: 2 of 4 weekends per schedule, or 4 of 8 weekend shift days; straight weekends may be considered
- Float requirement: May float if needed, but rarely
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS
- Critical Care Float experience within the last year
- 2 years of Critical Care Float experience
- Rapid Response experience
- All Pennsylvania clearances must be completed before start
- Drug screen within 90 days is accepted
- MMR declinations are not accepted
- Fingerprints must be submitted/uploaded before clearance
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- Department of Human Services fingerprinting
- FBI Department of Aging fingerprinting
- PA State Police clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- NIH
- Swallow Screen
- Neuro experience
Clinical Expectations
- Must be competent in dysrhythmia
- Will take a dysrhythmia and math dosage test on day one of orientation
- Must be available for holidays as determined during phone screening
Unit Details
- Specialty: Neuro Med Surg
- Patient population: Adult
- Bed count: 22
- Typical patient ratios: 5:1 and 6:1
- Common diagnoses/treatments: CVA, TIA, inability to ambulate, seizure, urinary conditions, respiratory conditions, and rarely cardiac cases
Orientation / Start Notes
- Travelers can start with some items pending
- Orientation is weekly on Mondays
- Facility education will be completed during orientation
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered travel
- Straight-weekend scheduling may be available if preferred
