Cardiovascular Invasive Radiology Technologist

Job Overview

• Assist cardiologists with invasive and diagnostic/interventional cardiac, vascular, and electrophysiologic procedures.
• Support hemodynamic monitoring, EKG interpretation, patient care, and procedural equipment setup in a procedural lab setting.
• Day shift: 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Cath Lab Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
• Cath Lab Radiology Technologist (3 years of experience)
• Radiology Technologist experience
• An associate's degree in a related field or a certificate of completion for a radiology program
• Illinois state license in Radiologic Technology
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS
• ARRT
• Knowledge of hemodynamic concepts, cardiac anatomy and physiology, EP concepts, fluoroscopic anatomy and physiology, radiation safety, moderate sedation administration, sterile technique, and invasive cardiology routines
• Ability to interpret EKGs and recognize arrhythmias
• Basic computer knowledge, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsing
• Fluent English communication skills
• Multicultural sensitivity

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with invasive coronary, vascular, and electrophysiologic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Set up and operate imaging, electrical, and physiologic monitoring equipment
• Prepare sterile fields and assist with sterile supplies and devices
• Monitor patient status, report significant observations, and document care
• Support patient education and communication during procedures
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and maintain daily equipment safety checks
• Manage digital archiving and retrieval of patient images and reports
• Collaborate with physicians, team members, and research staff as needed
