Job Overview
- Location: Springfield, Illinois
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours, 6:15 AM–4:45 PM
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Setting: Acute care hospital
- Unit type: Cardiovascular operating room
Schedule and Work Expectations
- On-call required: 1–2 nights per week and every 4th–5th weekend, or as needed for department operations
- Floating may be required within scope, including OR units if needed
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted
- Requested time off should ideally be no more than 5 days
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- CVOR experience with 3 years of experience
- CVOR experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
- Teaching Hospital experience
- Level II Trauma experience
Preferred Certification
- ACLS

- Cardiovascular surgery experience including:
- Aortic aneurysm repair
- Atrial septal defect repair
- Coronary artery bypass graft
- ECMO
- Femoral cannulation
- Intra-aortic balloon pump
- Left ventricular assist device
- MAZE procedure
- Mitral valve replacement
- PDA
- Pericardial window
- TAVR
- Scrub cardiovascular surgery
- Vascular surgery experience including:
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
- Arteriovenous fistula repair
- Atherectomy
- Carotid endarterectomy
- Endovascular aneurysm repair
- Femoral popliteal bypass graft
- Scrub vascular surgery
- Vein stripping
- Thoracic surgery experience including:
- Laparoscopic assisted cases
- Lobe resection
- Mediastinoscopy
- Thoracotomy
- VATS
- Scrub thoracic surgery
- Endoscopic procedure experience including:
- Bronchoscopy
- EGD
- Laparoscopic assisted cases
- PEG tube placement/exchange
- Scrub endoscopic surgery
- Professional knowledge and skills:
- Laser safety
- Specimen handling/labeling
- Universal protocol (time out) procedure
