CT Tech
Overview
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Location: Long Beach, California
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights, 5x8 hours, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday
- Weekend coverage: Every other weekend
- Locals: Accepted within 50 miles of the facility at local rate
- First-time travelers: Accepted with 2 years of experience
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in California
- CT Technologist (2 years of experience)
- CT Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Government-issued photo ID
- 2 professional references
- Employment application
- Unit-specific skills checklist
- Ability to complete required background checks and screenings
- Ability to complete required health documentation and immunization requirements
- Ability to complete required facility education/modules before start
Skills and Experience

- Level II trauma
- CT imaging procedures including abdomen, pelvis, chest, carotid, head, sinuses, soft tissue neck, trauma head, brain perfusion, vascular CTA, cervical, lumbar, thoracic, musculoskeletal trauma, and enterography
- Contrast media preparation and administration
- Radiation safety
- Starting peripheral IVs
- Venipuncture
- 3D rendering
- Multiplanar reconstruction
Work Environment
- Fast-paced, high-volume CT department
- 2 CT scanners
- Tech assistant available
- Minimum of 2 designated CT techs per shift is desirable

Required Pre-Start Items
- Background check
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- N95 fit mask within 1 year of start
- Tdap within the last 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- TB questionnaire
- Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella documentation
- Drug screen within 1 year of start
- Flu vaccination or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccination record preferred
- Facility policy reviews and required education modules
