    Job Opportunity: CVPICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Seattle, Washington
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Position Overview

    • Specialty: Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care (CVPICU)
    • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    • Shift Options:
      • Night Shift: 3 shifts/week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
      • Day Shift: 3 shifts/week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
    • Guaranteed Hours: Yes
    • Weekend Shifts: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
    • Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 patient-to-nurse ratio
    • Rotation: Day/Night rotating shifts approximately every 6 weeks (subject to unit needs)
    • On-call: Yes
    • Floating: Clinicians may float within their scope to meet facility needs
    • Locals Accepted: Yes
    • Block Scheduling: Not accommodated

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in Washington
    • Minimum 2 years of CVPICU experience
    • CVPICU experience within the last year
    • One completed travel assignment
    • BLS issued by the American Heart Association
    • PALS issued by the American Heart Association
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
    • Experience working with pediatric patients

    Facility Highlights

    • Pediatric teaching hospital with Magnet designation and Level I Trauma center
    • Total staffed beds: 407
    • Charting system: EPIC
    • Scrub color: Any color or T-shirt top, must be age-appropriate and kid-friendly
    • Parking: Available at variable cost depending on shift and lot

    Scheduling Notes

    • Scheduling weeks run Monday through Sunday
    • Night shift travelers may be scheduled the night before orientation start
    • Only pre-approved contract shifts guaranteed off

    Additional Requirements & Notes

    • E-Verify required for all placements
    • Background checks must be current and complete before start; no pending searches allowed except limited county civil searches under specific conditions
    • Candidates educated outside the U.S. must provide foreign equivalency education evaluation if applicable
    • Mandatory completion of facility-specific training modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours)
    • Candidates must complete all assigned modules; login information provided by facility IT
    • Math test and EKG test required onsite; remediation allowed without cancellation
    • Respiratory protection training provided by facility via online platform
    • Meal waiver agreement required only if waiving second meal period (not mandatory)

    Important Compliance & Documentation

    • Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
    • Transcript or diploma required for all RNs
    • Annual respirator medical clearance required for those using respirators
    • WA State Patrol (WATCH) search required within 12 months and every 2 years thereafter

    This position is ideal for experienced pediatric cardiac ICU nurses with strong clinical skills and prior travel contract experience, seeking a structured travel assignment in a high-acuity pediatric setting.
