Description
CT Technologist
Location: Urbana, Illinois
Schedule: Monday–Wednesday, 6:30 PM–7:00 AM
Shift: Day
Hours: 36 per week
Contract length: 13 weeks
Overview
The CT Technologist performs computerized axial tomography procedures, including contrast administration and related patient care tasks. The role also includes reviewing cases with radiology when appropriate, supporting patient safety, and assisting with student/new staff instruction as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Illinois
- CT Technologist experience within the last year
- 1 year of CT Technologist experience
- ARRT (R)
- ARRT (CT)
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate's degree in a related field or certificate in radiologic technology
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT procedures and assigned invasive procedures
- Acquire and process patient exams according to protocol and applicable guidelines
- Perform multiplanar reformats and/or 3D rendered images independently
- Review labs and patient history to ensure the correct exam
- Administer IV, oral, and rectal contrast when appropriate
- Recognize and respond to adverse or allergic reactions
- Screen for pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if applicable
- Maintain patient, visitor, and environmental safety
- Report safety events, including near misses
- Assist with productivity, downtime coverage, and cross-trained modality duties when needed
