Cath Lab Technician - Akron, Ohio

Job Summary

  • Operate fluoroscopic imaging equipment during cardiac and/or peripheral vascular procedures under physician supervision.
  • Provide scrub assistance to Cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
  • Deliver appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful procedure completion.

  • Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
  • Contract length: 12 weeks

Shift

  • 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Required Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Ohio.
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association.
  • ACLS certification.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist.
  • Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year.
  • Experience in an Acute Care setting.

Other Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License.

Required Licenses & Certifications for Onboarding

  • Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Current BLS (AHA only) and ACLS certifications.
  • State licensure to operate radiologic equipment as required by Ohio law.
  • COVID-19 vaccination required prior to start (medical or religious exemptions considered case-by-case).
  • MMR immunity: titer or 2 vaccines; negative titer requires boosters (no declinations accepted).
  • Fit test for N95 respirators within one year of start, updated annually.
  • Hepatitis B immunity: titer or complete vaccine series; negative titer requires boosters (signed declinations accepted).
  • 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) testing with negative results; no declinations accepted.
  • Varicella immunity: titer or 2 vaccines; negative titer requires boosters (no declinations accepted).
  • Annual TB questionnaire completed and signed.
  • Pre-employment physical within one year confirming ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually.
  • Unit-specific competency exam, skills checklist, and core competencies completed within one year of start and updated annually.
  • Criminal background check compliant with FCRA standards, including 7-year search and nationwide checks, completed within 90 days of start.
  • OIG and EPLS federal exclusion screenings completed within 90 days of start.
  • Third-party education verification.
  • Work order confirmation form completed upon offer acceptance.
  • Resume with 3 years prior work history including 2 years clinical acute care experience.

  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse patient populations, respecting their dignity and needs.
