Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- NRP
- EFM
- Negative drug screen required
- Must provide the last four digits of SSN
- Must provide middle initial
- Must provide requested time off
Experience / Skills
- Experience with newborn stabilization
- Experience as circulator for C-sections
Unit Details
- OB unit with low-risk and high-risk obstetric patients
- Level 1 perinatal/nursery designation
- 4 L&D beds
- 1 LDRP bed
- 1 OR suite
- 1 PACU/recovery bed
- 4 OB flex triage beds
- 6 postpartum beds
- Approximately 647 births per year
Responsibilities
- Titrate drips as needed
- Read fetal heart rate strips
- Float to other units as needed
- May be assigned as sitter, helping hands RN, or patient care technician when floated outside scope
Scheduling Requirements
- 3 weekends in a 6-week schedule
- Holiday rotation required
- May be on call or standby during low census
- May float 0–3 shifts per week
- Possible mid-shift floating between Ottawa and Peru locations
Additional Notes
- 12 hours of non-billable orientation
- Scrubs are your choice, but hospital-provided scrubs are required when caring for a patient going to the OR for C-section
- Central monitoring is used for fetal, newborn, and adult monitoring
