Intensive Care Unit RN

Overview

Provides direct patient care in an intensive care unit, including assessments, treatments, admissions, transfers, discharges, patient and family education, and care coordination.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Kentucky
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • 1 to 2 years or more of prior travel experience required
  • BLS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN
  • Previous nursing experience
  • Strong Neuro ICU experience preferred
  • Experienced ICU nurses may be considered if they have cared for neuro patients

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans
  • Monitor patient condition and respond to changes appropriately
  • Delegate and oversee patient care tasks
  • Support discharge planning and patient education
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities

Additional Notes

  • The unit is seeking candidates with recent acute/critical care travel experience, a minimum of 1–2 years in a staff ICU role before traveling, and current leadership references
