RN UP - Observation

Location

Urbana, Illinois

Contract Length

13 weeks

Shift

Day shift, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Hours

36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Med Surg experience within the last year
  • 1 year of Med Surg experience
  • DOU - Direct Observation Unit experience
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Education

  • ASN required
  • BSN preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to assigned patients using the nursing process
  • Complete initial patient assessments and develop care plans
  • Implement and update nursing interventions and patient care procedures
  • Maintain accurate nursing documentation
  • Assess IV sites every 4 hours and start new IVs per policy
  • Identify changes in patient status and respond appropriately
  • Support patient and staff safety by reporting or correcting hazards and incidents
  • Participate in staff meetings and meet documentation audit standards
