Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Med Surg (1 year of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Education

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of Nursing

Job Summary

Provides competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care
• Assess patient readiness to learn and provide education support
• Evaluate care and communicate relevant information to support continuity of care
• Provide care for patients with complex problems
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as needed
• Prioritize care and consult appropriate resources for complex care issues or discharge planning
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities
• Assess patient needs, including discharge planning and family support
• Participate in planning care with patients and families
• Apply research findings and bring practice ideas forward for review
