Description
Registered Nurse
Location
- Peoria, Illinois
Contract
- 13 weeks
- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS certification
- Ability to interpret EKGs
- Ability to titrate drips
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips

Unit Details
- Cardio thoracic unit
- 70 beds
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5 on days, 1:5-6 on nights
- Common patient types include MI, CHF, atrial fibrillation, COPD, pacemaker/AICD placement, lung surgery, esophagectomy, and general medical overflow
Schedule
- Every other weekend
- Holiday rotation required
- No call or standby requirement at this time
Responsibilities
- Float to other general medical units
- Work with Cardizem and heparin drips
- Support CPAP and BiPAP when part of a patient’s home regimen
- May assist with heated high flow in special circumstances with COVID patients
Additional Notes
- Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted
- Negative drug screen required
- Submission requires the last four digits of SSN, middle initial, and requested time off
- Orientation is typically 1 shift or part of one
- Scrubs may be any color except children’s or cartoon prints
