Respiratory Therapist, NICU
Overview
- Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
- Weekly hours: 36
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Between pediatric units and NICU; may also float to adult units on the main campus
- First-time travelers accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey
- Respiratory Therapist (1.5 years of experience)
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NBRC
- 1.5 or more years of PICU/NICU experience
- Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience
Certifications to Obtain Onsite
- ACLS
- PALS
- NRP
Key Responsibilities
- Respiratory care for neonatal critical care and pediatric patients
- Blood gas collection
- Ventilator, BiPAP, and high-flow initiation and management
- Code response
- In-house transport
- Medication administration
- Chest physiotherapy
Additional Notes
- Time off must be submitted with the application and approved before an offer is made
- EPIC is used for charting
