Description
NICU Registered Nurse
Overview
- Travel/contract position in New Jersey
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
- 36 hours per week
- Every weekend required, plus 1 weekday
- Floating required within a 5-hospital skillset
- No on-call
- Block scheduling not allowed
- RTO must be submitted at time of application; post-submission RTO is not accepted
- First-time travelers are accepted, but not preferred
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Jersey
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with Neonate patients
- Government-issued photo ID
- Proof of E-Verify or attestation
- 7-year criminal background check
- EPLS/GSA/SAM clearance
- HHS/OIG clearance
- Education verification or diploma/transcript
- NURSYS verification
- Work history verification
- 2 professional references within the last 2 years worked
- Employment application
- Skills checklist
- Latex questionnaire
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Pass/fail dysrhythmia testing
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam, as applicable
- Competency exam, as applicable
- Color blindness testing within 1 year of start
- Physical exam within the last 12 months
- Fit testing completed within the first week of assignment
- Negative TB screening or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- TB questionnaire
- Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity documentation
- Drug screen within 6 months of start
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption documentation
- Eye exam with visual acuity of 20/40 or better
Work Environment
- Patient ratio: 1:2
- Couplet care unit with a Stork RN on each shift
Additional Notes
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Epic experience is preferred
- Local rate adjustment applies within 50 miles of the hospital
