Respiratory Therapist

Overview

• Night shift
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• May float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
• May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in respiratory therapy from an accredited institution
• Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Colorado
• BLS

Key Responsibilities

• Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic respiratory testing and obtain arterial gases
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment
• Initiate respiratory protocols and interventions based on assessments
• Administer medications safely and evaluate patient response
• Communicate patient progress and recommendations to physicians, nurses, and other departments
• Educate patients and families on self-care techniques and health promotion
• Complete documentation and monitor supplies and equipment
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and research activities
• Serve as a resource, consultant, and mentor to staff
