Respiratory Therapist
Overview
- Night shift
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- May float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
- May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in respiratory therapy from an accredited institution
- Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Colorado
- BLS
Key Responsibilities
- Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic respiratory testing and obtain arterial gases
- Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment
- Initiate respiratory protocols and interventions based on assessments
- Administer medications safely and evaluate patient response
- Communicate patient progress and recommendations to physicians, nurses, and other departments
- Educate patients and families on self-care techniques and health promotion
- Complete documentation and monitor supplies and equipment
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and research activities
- Serve as a resource, consultant, and mentor to staff
