RN - BMC CRU

Overview

  • Clinical Resource Unit (Float pool) nursing role in Normal, Illinois.
  • Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM.
  • 13-week contract.
  • 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.

Unit / Assignment Scope

  • Floats to multiple inpatient units, including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Ortho, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab.
  • Provides care for diverse inpatient populations, including acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
  • Provides post-operative care for complex surgical patients.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to float to multiple units and provide care to diverse patient populations.
  • Ability to manage care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and modify patient care plans.
  • Skill in medication administration and evaluating medication effects.
  • Skill in preparing patients for procedures and managing post-operative care.
  • Skill in IV venipuncture and blood administration.
  • Ability to document care accurately using EMR.
  • Ability to educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and assist in professional development of peers.
  • Ability to handle conflict management and maintain professional communication with team members.
  • Skill in critical thinking to assess patient status and take appropriate action.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Ability to prioritize patient safety and adhere to safety standards including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and ambulation safety.
  • Ability to complete patient bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintain updated patient communication boards.
  • Ability to delegate appropriately and follow up on delegated tasks.
  • College diploma of nursing.
  • BLS (AHA).
  • IL Nursing License.
