Description

Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Overview

  • Travel/Contract role in Randallstown, Maryland
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
  • 36 hours per week
  • 14-week contract
  • 54-bed Emergency Department
  • Average daily volume: approximately 120 visits
  • Supports 2 locked Behavioral Health units in the ED
  • Supports 2 rapid evaluation units for urgent care and critical care needs
  • Treats neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Maryland
  • ED - Emergency Department (3 years of experience)
  • ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • 2 years of Level I or Level II trauma center experience
  • Prophecy Relias Advanced Emergency Department assessment
  • 4 hours of annual stroke CEUs
  • Every other weekend availability
  • Holiday coverage during the contract period
  • One pre-approved time-off request per contract
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • E-Verify / I-9 documentation
  • Background check covering all locations lived/worked for the past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM screening
  • HHS/OIG screening
  • Third-party education verification
  • Employment application
  • Unit-specific skills checklist
  • Unit-specific competency exam
  • Work history verification for 2 work places within the last 7 years
  • 2 professional references within 2 years of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • TB questionnaire
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • MMR immunity or vaccination documentation for measles, mumps, and rubella
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • Fit mask / respirator fit test
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
  • Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing
  • Pass/fail EKG testing as applicable
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable

Preferred

  • 2 years of Level I or Level II trauma experience may be considered
  • Precepting and training experience
  • CEN

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers are accepted if they have at least 3 years of Emergency Department experience
  • Locals are accepted
  • Does not accept block scheduling
  • Cerner charting system, including FirstNet and Launch
  • Navy blue scrubs
  • Float scope includes the 2 rapid evaluation units and the 2 locked ED Behavioral Health units
