Operating Room Registered Nurse

Baltimore, Maryland

Schedule
- 40 hours per week
- Day shift
- 4x10 hours, 7:00–15:30
- Weekend coverage is required: every Saturday and Sunday
- Call is required based on unit needs
Assignment Details
- General Operating Room position
- OR patient ratio: 1:1
- The OR averages approximately 40 cases per day
- Care is provided to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
- Float within scope as needed
- Scrubs are provided
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maryland
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- OR - Operating Room (2 years of experience)
- OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course
- Thoracic procedures experience
- ENT procedures experience
- Endoscopic procedures experience
- General surgery experience
- Gynecology experience
- Fire safety experience
- Malignant hyperthermia experience
- Latex allergy precautions experience
- Electrosurgical units operation experience
- Fiber-optic equipment experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching hospital experience
- Level I trauma experience
- ACLS
- NIH
- PALS
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Local candidates are accepted
- Block scheduling is not accommodated
- RTO of 14 days or less is auto-approved
- Every other winter and summer holiday is required, with no RTO approved
- No RTO is allowed on hard-to-fill days such as Easter, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day
- Cerner/Surginet is used for charting
