ICU RN

Role Overview

• Travel RN in the ICU
• 3x12 night shifts, 1900-0730
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every 4th weekend
• No call

Unit Details

• 8-bed ICU
• Patient ratios: 1:2 in ICU, 1:3 in PCU
• May be assigned to another location based on staffing needs
• Required to float to Med/Surg, PCU, and ED as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Ventilator management
• Titration of vasoactive drips
• Med Surg experience
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
• ED - Emergency Department experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Sepsis management
• Rapid Response and Code Blue experience
• Experience floating to PCU/Med-Surg as needed

Patient Population

• Medical ICU patients
• Sepsis
• Respiratory failure
• DKA
• Cardiac patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Stroke patients
• Post-procedure and post-operative ICU patients
• Patients requiring vasoactive medications and ventilator support

Additional Notes

• Must be comfortable working in an 8-bed ICU with a wide variety of patient populations
• Works closely with providers, ED, and house supervisors
• Navy blue scrubs
• Unacceptable attire: open-toed shoes, excessive jewelry, artificial nails per hospital policy, non-approved attire
• Parking is available in the employee lot south of the ER entrance, back row
