Intermediate Care RN

Location

• Bloomington, Illinois

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 3 x 12-hour shifts
• Rotating nights, weekends, and holidays
• 48 hours per week

Unit Details

• Intermediate Care
• 32 beds, all private rooms
• Inpatient acute floor
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 3-4 patients per nurse

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS
• Must be able to read telemetries
• Must be comfortable with chest tubes

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions, including COPD, CHF, diabetes, sepsis, renal, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, other respiratory conditions, neuro/surgical/cardiac patients, Bipap, Cpap, trach’s, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, ablation/cath lab patients, and dialysis
• Travel RNs are first to float
• May float to ICU if they have extensive ICU experience; otherwise may float to general medicine floors
• Takes whatever assignment is required for that level of care

Orientation

• 1 day with the education team
• 1 day floor orientation
