Description
Intermediate Care RN
Location: Bloomington, Illinois
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts
Required Qualifications
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- NIHSS
- Must be able to read telemetries
- Must be comfortable with chest tubes
Job Details
- Inpatient acute floor
- 32 beds, all private rooms
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 3-4 patients per nurse
- Travel RN works three 12-hour shifts with rotating nights, weekends, and holidays
- Travel RNs are first to float
- May float to ICU if extensive ICU experience is present; otherwise may float to general medicine floors
- Assignment examples include ICU: 2 patients; Gen Med: 5-6 patients
Unit Focus
- Care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions, including COPD, CHF, diabetes, sepsis, renal, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, other respiratory conditions, neuro/surgical/cardiac patients, Bipap, Cpap, trachs, chest tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, ablation/cath lab patients, and dialysis
