RN Central Resource Pool

Location

• Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend and every other holiday
• May be scheduled as straight nights, rotating shifts, or blocked scheduling

Unit

• 30-bed medical surgical unit and 8-bed progressive care unit
• Med-surg float units
• Travelers are the first to be reassigned to another department
• IMC travelers would work in both the IMC/MS unit; MS travelers in Med-Surg unit only

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Dakota
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• Experience with Bipap
• Experience with Cpap
• Experience with Heated High Flow
• Experience with Oxygen titration
• Experience with conscious or moderate sedation
• Med Surg experience
• Telemetry experience
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialty certification

Clinical Focus

• Mechanical ventilation
• Oxygen therapy
• Intravenous medications
• Moderate sedation monitoring during bronchoscopies
• Chest tubes
• Tracheostomies
• Postoperative care
• Non-invasive ventilation
• Cardiac monitoring
• Patient diagnoses may include pneumonia, COPD, CHF, COVID-19, and pulmonary embolism

Orientation

• Day 1: competency validation, online modules, self-assessment, and core competency validations
• Day 2: shift on unit with preceptor, unit tour, POCT testing, and remaining modules
• Day 3: 12-hour shift on unit

Additional Notes

• Must note in submission if clinician has ever worked for Sanford Health
• If previously worked there, end date must be 6 months prior to submission date
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
