Rad Tech 2 UP - HVI Proc Cath/Vasc

Overview

• Registered Radiologic Technologist role in the Heart & Vascular Institute.
• Supports patients undergoing invasive cardiology or invasive radiology studies.
• Assists the physician in procedures and patient care.

Schedule

• Day shift: 0730-1700, 4 days per week.
• 36 hours per week.
• On-call duties and variable shifts may be assigned.
• Takes call within 6 months.

Required Qualifications

• Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year.
• Cath Lab Technologist experience.
• Radiologic Technologist experience.
• Invasive Cardiology experience.
• Invasive Radiology experience.
• Cardiac Cath Lab work experience.
• Cath Lab Radiology Technologist experience.
• Associate's degree or certificate of completion.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association.
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association.
• ARRT (R).

Clinical Focus

• Cardiac Cath Lab work including left heart cath, with/without coronary stenting, right heart cath, pericardiocentesis, and vascular access under sterile procedure.
• Structural Heart Procedures including TAVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, Triclip, ASD/PFO, and CardioMEMs.
• Hybrid Peripheral Vascular work in coordination with vascular surgery including EVAR, TCAR, and TEVAR.
• Uses adjunctive tools including ICUS, FFR/iFR, Lithotripsy, Laser, Rota, Impella, IABP, OCT, and CTO.

Responsibilities

• Administers contrast material when applicable per physician request.
• Recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
• Works under the direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist.
• Assists with inventory and supplies.
• Checks patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.
• Compiles pertinent clinical information.
• Assists in instruction of new staff as necessary.
• Documents accurately and completely.
• Explains procedures and provides patient comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.
• Performs all essential functions of the Radiologic Technologist.
• Maintains a sterile field during procedures.
• Assesses patients for allergies.
• Can pull supplies for procedures.
