Radiation Therapist
Overview
- Travel/Contract assignment in San Luis Obispo, California
- Day shift: 5x8 hours, 8:00–17:00
- 13-week contract
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in California
- Radiation Therapist (2 years of experience)
- Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred for RN positions
Role Details
- Performs routine and specialized radiation treatments according to the physician’s treatment plan
- Maintains and operates radiation therapy equipment, including documentation, adjustments, and repairs as needed
- Assists physicians with radiation therapy and simulation procedures
- Educates patients about procedures and helps reduce fear and anxiety
- Mentors students and new therapists
- Handles clerical tasks including patient appointments and EHR updates
- Maintains safety standards and radiation protection practices
- Uses TrueBeam equipment
