Job Opportunity: RN Post Partum

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Job Description

Provide postpartum nursing care in a hospital setting.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Minimum of 2 years of postpartum nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current Driver's License

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• Professional Documentation:

  • Resume/Profile required for submission
  • At least two professional references prior to first assignment
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 90 days of start
  • Employment verification for past seven years
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
  • Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment on agency letterhead

• Health and Safety:

  • Proof of immunizations and health screenings:

    • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella (two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history; no declinations accepted)
    • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Influenza vaccine (optional; if declined, mask required during flu season)
    • 2-Step PPD or IGRA testing with annual TB questionnaire
    • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be done onsite)
    • Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
    • 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually

• Testing and Competency:

  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out (Cerner system competency)
  • Specialty exam in postpartum nursing with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
  • Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics, updated every 3 years
  • EKG exam with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
  • Skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually

• Additional Requirements:

  • Color vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years
  • Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
  • MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training

• Some onboarding requirements must be completed prior to or at the start of the assignment; others require annual updates.
• Optional unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leadership within one week of start.
• Driver’s license or state ID must be current and match address on file; specific address requirements apply if working outside home state.
