RN - Behavioral Health

Overview

• Travel RN role in Lafayette, Indiana
• 13-week assignment
• 3 openings
• Weekly orientation on Mondays
• Candidates must live 60 miles or more away to be considered travel

Facility / Unit

• Acute inpatient behavioral health/addictions hospital
• 48-bed unit
• Staff rotate between two units within the hospital
• Adult patient population

Schedule

• Full-time hours: 36 per week
• Weekend requirement: every 3rd weekend
• No call requirements

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Behavioral Health (1 year of experience)
• Behavioral Health experience within the last year
• BLS
• HWC

Preferred

• 2 years of experience
• Experience with crisis intervention, verbal de-escalation, active listening, and empathetic communication
• Accurate and thorough charting
• Behavioral management skills

Clinical Setting Notes

• Patients must be medically cleared before arrival
• Patients with lines or tubes are excluded, except CPAP and up to 2L oxygen
• Common diagnoses include substance abuse disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, PTSD, and anxiety disorders

Work Environment

• Majority of charting is paper-based
• Orders are entered in HCS
• Medications are pulled from a Pyxis

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs
• Hoodies are not allowed
