NICU RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Columbus, Ohio
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Role focus

• Provides comprehensive care to neonates in a Level III NICU
• Cares for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above
• Manages respiratory distress, glucose management, and neonates requiring surgery or cardiac interventions

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (1 year of experience)
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NRP
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in NICU Level III and Level IV settings
• Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Proficiency in gastrointestinal feeding methods and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes
• Expertise in infection control measures and IV therapy, including umbilical artery and vein catheter management
• Experience with arterial line management
• Experience with central line care
• Oversight of ventilator settings and adjustments (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)

Preferred

• Prior experience at Nationwide Children’s Hospital will be given special consideration

Additional notes

• EPIC is used for documentation
• Pyxis is used for medication administration
• SBAR communication is used
• The role includes arterial line management, central line care, neonatal abstinence syndrome interventions, and ventilator management
• Candidates with pending fingerprint results may be allowed under the facility’s attestation process
