Description
Post-Partum RN
Overview
- Travel contract in Tacoma, Washington
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift
- 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Unit
- Postpartum unit
- 11 L&D beds, 7 antepartum/high risk beds, 2 OR suites, 3 triage beds, and 32 postpartum beds
Required Qualifications
- Active WA RN license; pending license needed to submit
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- 2 full years of experience
- Must have experience with newborn transition and post delivery magnesium management
- COVID vaccine required
Schedule and Work Expectations
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
- May be on call if low census
- Floating to L&D for normal newborn transition
Unit Details
- Ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
- Common patient types include pre-eclampsia, gestational and insulin dependent diabetes, high BMI, multiples, AMA, and substance abuse disorders
- RN titration of drips required; magnesium is a common titratable drip
- CNAs are on the unit
- OBHG is in house 24/7, with Neo or NICU advanced practice provider available 24/7
- No tele on the unit
- Centricity Perinatal is used for EFM
- Hospital scrubs in L&D; personal scrubs on postpartum
- Unit orientation provided, including nights and weekends as needed
