PCU

Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Columbus, Ohio.
• 16-week assignment.
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30.
• Adults and geriatrics.
• Mixed-acuity surgical oncology unit caring for PCU and Med Surg patients.
• Busy surgical floor.
• Staffing goal is 1:4, with ratios up to 1:5.
• Weekends are variable based on unit needs.
• No set or blocked scheduling.
• Travelers may be required to float within their scope of practice.
• Rotating day/night schedules may be assigned depending on department needs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio.
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience).
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association.
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association.
• NIHSS.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Experience in an Acute Care setting.
• 2 professional references.
• Employment application.

Preferred Qualifications

• ONS Chemo.

Unit Details

• Surgical oncology diagnoses include breast, thyroid, melanoma, liver, pancreas, spleen, biliary tract cancers, neuroendocrine, colon, rectal cancer, reconstructive breast cancer, and sarcoma.
• Common procedures and treatments include chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, oncologic emergencies, cytokine release syndrome, insulin drips, and heparin drips.
• Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls.
