Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Springfield, Illinois
- 3x12 Days Weekend Block: every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 0645-1915
- 23 rooms
- 13-week assignment
- Acute Care Hospital
- Level I trauma center
- Magnet hospital/facility
- 562 staffed beds
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- OR - Operating Room (3 years of experience)
- OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
- CNOR
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Laparoscopic assisted bariatric cases
- General surgery cases: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy partial/total, Whipple
- Neurology cases: Cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion
- Orthopedic cases: Arthroscopy, Carpal Tunnel release, Closed reduction of fractures, Open reduction of fractures
- Plastic surgery cases: Free Flap - Microvascular
- Organ donation experience
- Urology cases: Cystoscopy, Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy
- Code response experience
- Malignant Hyperthermia experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Cerner experience
Clinical Experience / Case Mix
- Works with all service lines except CV
- Bariatric: laparoscopic assisted cases
- General Surgery: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, inguinal/umbilical hernia repair, laparoscopic assisted procedures, mastectomy, partial/total thyroidectomy, Whipple
- Neurology: cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion
- Orthopedic: arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, closed reduction of fractures, open reduction of fractures
- Plastic Surgery: free flap microvascular
- Transplant: organ donation
- Urology: cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy
- Trauma: amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, MVA with multiple injuries
- Emergency management: code response, fire safety, latex allergy, malignant hyperthermia
- Equipment/instrumentation: electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana tables
- Professional skills: administration of blood products, infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, Universal Protocol time out, urinary bladder catheterization
