Overview

• Travel OR Surgical Tech role in Boston, Massachusetts.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• Nights; 36 hours per week.
• 4x10 9p-7a or 3x12s 7p-7a.
• Level 1 Trauma Facility.
• OR has 23 rooms.
• Total cases: 50-70 per day.
• Academic facility.

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (2 years of experience)
• Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• Graduation from a nationally accredited surgical technology program or completion of a military surgical technology program
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• Experience working with General Surgery or Neuro or Orthopedics patients
• Experience in the general operating room (OR)
• Experience with robotic surgery
• Experience with orthospine surgery
• Experience with complex general surgery
• Experience with laparoscopic surgery

Preferred

• Travel experience.
• Eyes/ENT experience is a bonus.

Schedule and Call

• Call and weekend rotation.
• Travelers take the same amount of call as permanent staff.
• Weekend rotation and call are at manager discretion.
• Travelers may be asked to work 8-hour shifts during the week in rotation.
• Travelers work 12-hour weekend shifts in rotation with other staff.
• Neuro/Ortho: 3 weekdays per month, evenings or nights.
• Neuro/Ortho: 10 staff per month take 2 weekend shifts; all remaining staff take 1 weekend shift.
• Center 1: 3 weekdays per month, evenings or nights.
• Center 1: 4 staff per month take 2 weekend shifts; all remaining staff take 1 weekend shift.

Case Mix

• Ortho, Neuro, General.
• Trauma cases.
