Overview

• 13-week contract
• Location: Peoria, Illinois
• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• Previous PICU experience

Unit Details

• PICU department
• 16 ICU beds and 16 INT beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1 to 1:2
• Common patient types include Medical/Surgical/Neuro and CV ICU
• 1 PCT for the unit
• Free charge RN 24/7
• House supervisor 24/7
• Intensivists, APPs, and residents in house 24/7
• Bedside Phillips monitors; nurses should be able to recognize rhythm changes and understand associated interventions
• RT equipment includes Avia, Servo U, Home Vents trilogy, and LTV

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Shift times: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• May work 1 significant and 1 insignificant holiday depending on assignment timing

Floating

• May float to PIC and lower levels of care by turn
• NICU/NIC float is up to the traveler
• Full teams are floated

Additional Notes

• No call or standby requirement
• No scrub color restriction; scrubs should be friendly to children
• Unit-specific orientation: 3 to 4 twelve-hour shifts
• Non-billable orientation: 12 hours
• Drug screen required
• Submission requires the last four digits of SSN, middle initial, and requested time off
