Radiologic Technologist

Role Overview

• Performs diagnostic general radiological procedures using imaging equipment to assist in diagnosis of disease and injuries.
• Based in Radiology.

Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
• Day shift
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technologist license in Illinois
• Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
• 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ARRT (R)
• Associate's degree or a certificate in radiologic technology
• Invasive procedures

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic procedures in accordance with department protocols and manufacturer guidelines
• Reviews cases with the radiologist when appropriate
• Reviews labs, patient history, and radiology orders for completeness, accuracy, and medical necessity
• Administers IV, oral, and rectal contrast when appropriate
• Screens for pregnancy and performs pregnancy testing if applicable
• Transfers and verifies image data in PACS and sends exams for preliminary readings after hours
• Maintains imaging equipment, supply inventories, and work area orderliness
• Ensures patient, visitor, and environmental safety
• Assists in instruction of students and new staff as needed
• May perform duties of Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence
• May assist other areas during downtimes and may be required to perform duties of other modalities within the department if licensed to do so
