Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• Full time
• Every other weekend
• Schedule based on staffing need to cover the entire med surg division

Unit / Setting

• Med/Surg and Telemetry
• Primary assignment is to the med surg/tele division
• Travelers may float to all MS/Tele divisions
• Alternate med surg/tele units include:

  • 7th Floor surgical unit
  • 8BC long term low acuity unit
  • 9th Floor general medical unit
  • 2 South short stay cardiac/COVID unit
  • 3 South Neuro unit
  • 4 South ortho and spine unit
  • 10th Floor Med Surg Oncology
  • ER Transition Unit
  • ERT
  • CDU
  • MSW

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• At least 2 years acute care experience
• RN license
• Cannot have been full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year

Clinical Responsibilities / Expectations

• RNs take 4-5 patients
• Must titrate drips as needed within med surg guidelines
• Telemetry is monitored remotely by telemetry techs, and RNs verify strip readings
• May be assigned as a CNA if RN short
• May be assigned as an entrance screener if needed

Float / Coverage

• Required to float throughout Region Two if needed:

  • St. Clare Hospital – Lakewood, WA
  • St. Elizabeth Hospital – Enumclaw, WA
  • St Joseph Medical Center – Tacoma, WA
• Rate differential applies when floated outside of SJMC

Additional Details

• CNAs take 8-11 patients
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPap, trachs, and no vents
• Call/standby may be required up to 4 times during the contract
• 1-2 winter holidays required
• Travelers must take breaks when offered and cannot refuse
• No specific scrub color required
